Multi Monitor Wallpaper App Reviews

Almost nailed it...

I was excited when I saw this, because it’s a VERY easy tool to solve an often overlooked want. One thing killed it for me though; it forces you to use every monitor available. I have two monitors attached to my macbookpro, which are situated above my laptop side by side. I only want to set the wallpaper for the monitors, and leave my macbook built-in display’s wallpaper independent. FEATURE REQUEST: Ability to include/exclude monitors used for wallpaper. Please make this happen! :)

Very Pleased!

This app does exactly what it advertises. It is simple to use and produces excellent results.

Best Multi Screen App I have used

I used to use MultiScape - and had to really work with it to make both screen work the same. I have monitors of different size and it was agonizing to make them line up. With Multi Monitor Wallpaper it is effortless and I absolutely love how simple it is. Everything lines up. My pictures look correct. I cannot say enough good things about this app and am absolutely thrilled with the results. It is simple to use, works correctly on all my pictures, even the ones that didn’t work before - and is the best purchase I could have made to help me stop pulling my hair out. This app works.

Amazing. Works Awesome in 10.9.4 across my 3 monitors. Love it.

I rated a previous version but recently upgraded from mountain lion to mavericks and added a monitor. I thought this was cool with two displays but with three it’s even better. Works flawlessly and I remember from the previous version when I had a question the developer was fast to respond. Highly recommend this app. I’m keen to support/see this developer sucessful because I never want to see this app go away. There are a bunch of websites out there where you can download high resolution desktop backgrounds design for three monitors so each of my ‘spaces’ uses a seperate background image. To the developer: thanks for keeping this up to date and available via App Store. -Cheers, Brad

Works… until you reboot

Allows splitting an image across multiple screens as advertised, until I restart the computer and all desktops return to the default image. This application isn’t useful to me if I have to reapply the wallpaper each time I start. I’m on a Mac Book Pro 13” running OS X 10.9.5.

Doesn’t work!

Ok i found out that even pictures from DSLR will look defected due to the portion of the screen counts in the original photo is very small. For 3 bucks, I expect the author provide more than just a photo cropping software but also some initial photos to staert with, or some guidiance on how to get some high quality photos that will work as wallpaper. Failing to do this will only left an angry customer and a useless software.

Great app, much easier than splicing yourself...

Works like its supposed to and doesnt use any resources after setting the background…occasionally I lose background when i hit my machine with certain remote software but thats an issue with that app, not this one.

Just what it says . . .

This is an app that does just what it says. I was able to manipulate some of the wonderful stock desktop images that came with Yosemite so that they spanned my 27” iMac and my 27” Cinema Display seamlessly. Really looks sharp.

Constant Crashes on Yosemite

This app worked successfully when using Mavericks, but I have been using Yosemite for the past two months and since then this does not work at all. It will open fine and I can edit the layout of whatever picture I chose, however, once I click Save and Apply! the app crashes. Every. Single. Time. Am hoping for Yosemite support soon.

Works great

This application does exactly what you would think it should do and is very easy to use. The only downside is that you need some huge image files to have good resolution adequate for a wallpaper but that should be common sense. 5 out of 5 stars.

awesome

downloaded the app and in 3 minutes i had grabbed a highres cityscape image from flicker and spanned it perfectcly across my odd mix of high resolution landscape and portrait monitors. whooot!

Works Perfectly… Can also be automated with AppleScript

Each new version of this app improves it’s already great features. The app works flawlessly even after reboot. I am a landscape photographer and have hundreds of panoramic images. Now I can easily use all of my landscapes as multiple monitor backgrounds. Without this application I was hand cutting each image for each screen. Now it’s as simple as selecting one of my panoramas, and then it’s instantly a dual screen background. This is a flawless app and it working great on my dual 4K monitors. Each of these monitors has a screen size of 3840 X 2160. I’m very impressed how easy this was! #### Also - This app can be automated using AppleScript to quickly change your wallpaper. See my post at the developer’s support forum. Using an AppleScript is how I was able to accomplish this. #### Hopefully the developer can add this as a standard feature. This is a GREAT APP !

Easy to use but images revert

Sadly everytime I restart the background resets on my displays.

Useful, but doesn’t scale independently

I have a very high DPI MacBook Pro Retina, and a very low DPI 1080p monitor next to it. In the past I’ve gone to great lengths to get my multiscreen wallpaper to line up across both screens. This does half of the job - it let’s me grab 2 chunks of the image according to the resolutions of the monitors, but it doesn’t take into account the DPI, so the images have completely different scales and can only align at one point. I would like to able to calibrate the relative sizes of my monitors so it can scale the image for one of the screens to match the other. Maybe you could draw two lines between the screens, then give me position and scale controls to adjust until both of the lines connect. Maybe too much to ask for in a $3 app, but very useful with the increasing range of screen densities.

Love it.

Perfect, thanks.

Atomically Great but...

Great for placing a single image, but should have option to rotate out different images from a folder. Kind of dissapointed it does not have this feature for 2.99 since it is a staple of most other multi-monitor desktop software. Please add this feature so I can rate 5 stars!

Not a Mature Solution

Usual story regarding items that appear “too good to be true”. Credit where it’s due - with this app you can easily format a large-resolution image into multiple desktops, which has novelty value. But that’s as far as it goes. If you never change your desktop wallpaper this will be great for you! If you have a library of images and you’d like to be able to switch between them either manually or better yet automatically, this solution doesn’t help. You have to render a fresh image each time you want a change. The best solutions I have found have been a system of “left” and “right” images that I sometimes have to re-synchonise or using a matrox display extender to cast the dual displays as a single one - this having the disadvantage that it doesn’t seem to transmit sound. A bit disappointed all-round, really.

Works as advertised

This app would be a little more helpful if it also supported some form of background image rotation from a directory. That being said, it does what it said it does very well.

Awesome

Was looking for this software, works great. Would be nice if i could “snap” the image to the edges. Also would be nice if I can specify the gap between the two monitors and have that accounted for (the frame thickness of the monitors).

Perfection… It just works

I have 3 Monitors and always had a hard time getting my landscape pictures to properly lineup and distribute amongst all screens. This App easily does this, it even spreads the picture to acomodate for the monitor borders. Thanks for the simplicity, Keep making it better...
