Multi Monitor Wallpaper App Reviews

Only allows you to work with one image

This app only allows you to work with one image, which means you need super hi res images to properly scale across multiple monitors. This defeats the purpose of the app.

Locks up and crashes MacBook Retina

Major problems with the new Macbook Pro with Retina display and multimoniter setup. Wish I could have known it had issues with crashing prior to purchase. Buyer beware!

5 Stars for filling the missing App space for Mac OS

I like this app! it works fine on my iMac+cinema display setup. I would like the saved files to have some sort of icon preview, and the ability to use the direction keys on the keyboard to nudge images. Great Price!

Perfect!

Does exactly what its meant to do, and does it well. Glad I found this. Makes my 5 monitors look better than ever.

Easy peasy!

This is PFM, folks. Its not like were building rockets here, but this software takes a moderately difficult task and turns it into a 1-2 minute operation at most. As others have said, youll need a really wide image thats pretty high-res for this to look good. Thats not a complaint, just think about what the software is doing! I have one request: I am unable to resize the second monitor which is spanned from my MacBook Pro. Its very close in size in pixels, so the software draws it the same size - but the pixel density is a bit lower with a larger monitor. This causes some strangeness. Thanks for the great work. Its a unitasker - and a good one!

aves time. works sometimes

A real timesaver when it works, it saves the file again and when you go to restore a previously applied deaktop it mirrors on both screens instead of spreading across both, intermittant and im looking for the cause Besides that bug its great! beats cropping an image in photoshop for wallpaper.

good app with bugs

This app is great, does its job well, however since upgrading to 10.8 it screws up the desktop images every I boot. I fix it but it break again after restart. The developers website has ZERO support for this app. Not even how to uninstall it.

Cool but wish it did more

Played with it for a few minutes, will play with it even more later on also when I get my three screen set up at home. Its a great Framing tool to do some really easy things with the desktop, but its not quite doing what I hoped it would :( I was honestly hoping for a few things here though, because Mac OS cant make the whole monitor just one large monitor I was hoping for some nice workaround to fix having one background span the wallpapers AND be randomly changing ever X amount of seconds, this only sets one background per space. Nice and fun but I like the refreshing guessing game of having a library of randomly changing beautiful backgrounds. Another thing I see quickly on the wishlist is having the ability to save out the images in monitors as separate files to jpegs or what have you to be able to use in the old conventional way. It saves it alright, but it only saves them in a proprietary file (youll find if you right click and say "Show Package Contents" however, the cropped and separated files are kept in there pretty nice and neatly and be able to take them out and use them in any other way you wish). Once again GREAT FRAMING TOOL because of that!! The other thing that was odd was the screens in laying them out sometimes went crazy, the monitor areas would dissappear or be really thin, definetly not the resolution I have, leaving a really confusing faded out image that you didnt reall yknow where the screens were going to be. Canceling and going back in a few times would fix this.

I like it!

Sure are a lot of negative reviews. Ill admit there is a lot of polishing to do, but on the whole this app does what it says it does! I hate trying to photoshop pictures to line up just right for my 3 monitor setup. This does it for me and it looks great every time! It would be nice if the app were aware of DPI differences between displays and would scale images accordingly so that they displayed physically the same size.

Very good

Does precisely what it is supposed to do. The ui isnt quite the best, but who cares. This app is a great solution to the problem of trying to split a tri-screen background image across three monitors on OSX.

Works just as stated and easy

I downloaded this app, applied a panoramic shot I had created on Photoshop and it worked fantastically. My first try gave me odd alignment since my two monitors to not have the same resolution but this great little app allowed me to adjust the monitors so the picture looked great. My picture has the ocean in it and I was able to align the horizon and it looks great! Well done! Just what I was looking for!

Works as advertised

Pro: It does what it says. Con: Final output format is not compressed. For instance a 5120x1440 file that started as a 3.1 MB JPEG file, after processing was 27.5 MB.

Fantastic

I can’t speak more highly of this app, it’s really a fantastic purchase

Finally!!!!

I was waiting for it for a long, looong time! Photoshop slices never more, yippee! This solves the lack multi display support for wallpapers from Apple. The only thing I would improve is the ability to drag and drop pictures to the preview window, besides this nothing more to say because it just works!

Just what you’re looking for (probably)

I’m running three monitors, all with different resolutions. This allowed me to select one very large image (5140x1080) and span it across all the monitors perfectly. It was pretty easy to allign them so that the wallpaper flow near-perfectly from one to another. If you’ve ever tried to photoshop your wallpapers to achieve this effect then you know what a pain it can be — this application makes it simple.

Works quite well - recommended.

If you are looking for a way to spread a single image across 2 or more monitors on a Mac, this App is great. I don’t have time to go into photoshop adjust resolutions, paste, etc. This app makes it literally as easy as selecting a picture and saving. BAM - your chosen image is across multiple monitors. I’m glad this App exists!

Exactly what I needed

Great stuff. Let’s me slide the monitors around to match my unusual arrangement, and the pics fit perfectly.

Setup is a breeze, works great until power down.

Everything about this app works perfectly so far with one large exception. Most every time I turn off/on my computer, I have to reset the photo. If not, I just get the standard Milky Way image (10.8.5). I have kept the photo on my main Drive in the hopes that would improve it (most photos go on a network drive in my home). I would appreciate a fix for this.

Disappointed

Pros: The app does what it says, and will allow you to span a single image across two screens. Cons: The final image resolutions severely detriorate, despite starting from 3840x1080, and thus take away from the beauty of using a continuous photo across multiple monitors. —— Recommendation: either use a MASSIVE image file or find another method. —— Is there a way to adjust resolution or aspect ratios on the final image, so as to avoid this problem?

Has fallen behind on the Flickr API

No longer works since the Flickr API changed to require SSL. Every access fails with a an error in the system.log: Aug 3 20:49:16 mylaptop Multi Monitor Wallpaper[3577]: flickr request failed: Error Domain=com.flickr Code=95 "The operation couldn’t be completed.
